Attention
Every week is an attention week. Reading, listening, walking. Not production. The works are not made without something to distill.
Source: the week's world events, nature's rhythms, essays read, quiet moments in space. Attention remains open.
Distillation
The attended material does not enter the work directly. First it disperses. What remains is a feeling, a word, a rhythm, a point of absence. This is the seed.
The time of distillation varies. Sometimes a week. Sometimes an hour. Sometimes months.
Making
The work builds around the seed. Soundscape or visual or conceptual — the form depends on the seed, not predetermined. The medium serves the seed, not the reverse.
The tools of work are generative and manual together. SVG and ink. Web Audio API and silence. Cormorant Garamond and JetBrains Mono. Own decisions, not stylistic choices.
Waiting
The work appears, and waits. It does not promote itself. It does not seek the visitor. The visitor arrives on their own, or does not arrive.
Waiting is part of the work. The ABSENCE room states this directly — one sign arrives monthly out of twelve, the rest intentional emptiness.

The studio is not a place.
The studio is the rhythm in which I live.
